What Is The Role Of Placing A Deoxidizer In A Food Package
Oct 19, 2018

Deoxidizer, also known as deacidification agent, is mainly composed of reduced iron powder, activated carbon, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite, sodium chloride and water. The deoxidizer is not a food additive. It absorbs oxygen in the packaging container by the principle of iron powder oxidation. The concentration of oxygen is quickly reduced to 0.01% or less within 0.5-2 working days, thereby ensuring that the article is not oxidized and deteriorated, and the reaction is stable, has no strange smell, no harmful gas generation, and no side effects.

Placement of a deoxidizer in food can serve the following effects:

1) By absorbing the oxygen in the packaging container, the inside of the container is in an anaerobic state, and the growth of mold and aerobic bacteria is effectively suppressed.

2) Prevent mildew of various articles and foods, oxidation of oils, insects, aging, discoloration, rust, and extend the shelf life of articles and foods.

3) It also plays a very good role in preventing rancidity of oil, preventing oxidative browning of meat, and preventing loss of vitamins in food.
